You can run roots new whatever from your command line to have roots generate a starting template for you. Whatever being whatever the name you want your project to be.

Was this what you were after, or did I miss the point? Just to add a little to this, roots is not similar to bootstrap in any way. It's intended for professionals to build high-quality custom sites - not as a tool you can use to generate a generic-looking stylesheet to slap on your site so that you can not hire a designer, or because you don't really know how to write css.

That being said, semantic.gs is built into roots, and you can use it to quickly mock out grid structures if this is your style. There are a few examples on their site of basic grids, and the documentation on how to use it within roots can be found here.

What I mean was starting from such a basic template doesn't help the less advanced developers. Maybe having more example starting templates would people get moving quicker. Maybe some templates like Bootstrap does to showcase what roots can do? I updated the original issue to be more clear (the link text was not clear enough).
