@ghtmtt You might need to set the WBT executable to its full path, e.g., /home/matteo/Downloads/WBT/whitebox_tools

oh I see now, without py
. Is it worth to describe in the docs with more emphasis?
BTW, thanks!

@ghtmtt This is actually described in the docs. It is something that appears to have chanced recently with the QGIS plugin and I encountered it myself not too long ago (which was why I updated the user manual). Previously, you simply needed to specify the folder containing the WhiteboxTools executable file. Now, it seems that you need to specify the full executable file. Oddly, QGIS does not let you select the executable file on a Mac (I presume because it doesn't have the expected .exe extension) and so you need to select the whitebox_tools.py file and delete the '.py' part. I've also noticed that you need to select out of the text box before pressing OK for the path to be saved. I've documented all of these oddities in the user manual.

In ubuntu 20.04 is imposible to save the path in the text box, i follow your instructions and it doesn't works, i can't use the plugin in QGIS 3.16.

Just checked and everything works fine on Windows and Linux using QGIS master and latest 3.16.

Thanks, under Windows the search file button to locate the executable works fine! I suggest avoiding placing the WhiteBox Tools main folder on a "delicate" system path like "C:\Program Files" cause it might have some issues with file writing permission (JSON param file) but the link to the executable works fine.
