I also tried deleting everything under "com/jaspersoft" folder in my local repo:
I get the following line among all the logs when trying to build the project:
[WARNING] The POM for com.jaspersoft.jasperserver:jasperserver-dto:jar:5.6.0-SNAPSHOT is missing, no dependency information available
from jrs-rest-java-client.

Solved.
I had to add the additional repo
http://jaspersoft.artifactoryonline.com/jaspersoft/jrs-ce-snapshots
to our artifactory repo and now it's working
from jrs-rest-java-client.
