Try type: ['string', 'null'] in the disabled_at property

Yes it works because it's based on json spec, and OpenAPI differ here, the only way to do this with OpenAPI (v2) is to use "oneof", however i'm not sure this will work.

You can also set the strict option to false for the Jane generator, and it will consider that every properties can be nullable

We added nullable support since 4.4.0, check #87 for implementation details (for OpenAPI 2.x) and it's also supported on master branch (PR #84) for OpenApi 3.x 😉
