It's not that Unstated Next can offer better performance, it's that Redux opts out of React's better performance (because it opts out of React's component model).

useSelector() will also subscribe to the Redux store, and run your selector whenever an action is dispatched.

Yes, it falls into the same pitfalls.

I don't see how Redux could ever fix this problem (without a major subtractive/breaking change). It's a problem with its core architecture.
