Sorry to hear you're having issues - would you mind modifying this sample bin to illustrate what you're trying to do? In theory I'm not aware of any reason you shouldn't be able to use promises to load your data.

Each category has unique ID. I need to fetch & display list dynamically.

The jsbin code above is getting into trouble because makeTree gets run before your promises have a chance to resolve. Here's an example with promises where the new nodes are fetched from one of your endpoints using promises:
