I'm facing the same issue on Ubuntu 13.04 with unity and iptux 0.5.3 (downloaded from the Ubuntu software center). I filed a bug on launchpad - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iptux/+bug/1258760. Let me know if you need more info.

Attached is a screenshot of how the iptux window looks after it automatically shrinks to the smallest size.

I am also facing same issue. Screen shot is attached.

Following is the steps to reproduce the bug :

1. Open Iptux
2. Double click on title bar of iptux OR press maximize button on title bar to maximize it.
3. Now Double click on title bar of iptux OR press re-size button on title bar to re-size to original size.
4. Main window of iptux is automatically shrinking to smallest size.

Above steps are used when iptux installed on first time. Once this issue is produced it is permanent until you format your machine.
