@sestegra the solution, for me, is to move to mysql 5, then change the permissions of the srv folder (mounted volume) using the following command on the host machine:

sudo chown -R 33:33 srv/

The reason is that the user accessing the files inside the container is www-data. Of course my user isn't called that so the mapping is off and it fails to write. Double check your www-data user's id using the following command and adjust the command above where needed.
