How to deploy refkit-image-gateway into Galileo Gen 2 about intel-iot-refkit HOT 4 CLOSED

the .wic image contains all you need so nothing extra needs to be copied.

We've not booted intel-quark for a while. Are you sure the board tries to boot from the SD card?

Default grub within SPI looks for grub config in location /boot/grub/. If you have flashed wic in MMC/USB, possibly there will not be /boot but /EFI.
One way is to build FAT(/ext3/ext4) file system in MMC/USB and and create /boot/grub/ and then deploy grub config (grub.conf) file over there. You can create grub config file by hand. Once you have grub config file in place, rest of all is in your control. Copy kernel image and root file system at place of your choice and specify it in grub config file. It will boot. You may like to generate linux known file system for root file system in yocto. Such as ext3, ext4, etc. You can't do it with just wic without much change. Do modify local.conf for so.
