You will see the errors in your browser console, the codepen console show nothing.
I don't know how to access the global['ng2-pdfjs-viewer'], normally it's more like global.ng2pdfjsviewer.

I did not get much time to look into this one, (my experience with es5 global is limitted as well). Have you got this resolved?

I finally go to es6 with a mix of ng serve with (--base-href=/pdfview/) and nginx as a reverse proxy. As I don't want to convert the old Angular.Js es5 app yet.
