Can't connect to Facebook XMPP gateway about conversations HOT 7 CLOSED

Facebook Platform authentication using X-FACEBOOK-PLATFORM or PLAIN SASL authentication mechanism
Non-SASL authentication with the jabber:iq:auth namespace as described in XEP-0078 is not currently supported.

Conversations does SASL PLAIN.

Can you provide more information on how the facebook chat is supposed to work? What login credentials do I use? I'm guessing I cant use my normal email address? Does facebook provide something like [email protected] or something similar?

Yeah you have a username for Facebook that isn't quite obvious. Its used for their email service and in profile urls (facebook.com/username). You log in with [email protected] and your Facebook password.

The rest is standard stuff: The Server is chat.facebook.com with port 5222. It works in Adium with these settings at least.

This wasn't actually planned but it seems that this is working since the DNS bug fixes appeared in version 0.1.2
I haven't actually tried to write any messages but I was able to load the roster)

Facebook have officially deprecated and removed their XMPP API. The only way you'll be able to connect to it now is by using a gateway, but I haven't been able to find one.

Added on a Spectrum2 server this will allow you to create a Facebook gateway !
