Problems when column names aren't unique about dbf HOT 2 CLOSED

It's my understanding that dbase field names are supposed to be unique. What software is creating the files with non-unique field names? Can you provide me with a sample file? If you can give me a sample file, you can either attach it to this ticket or email it to me at [email protected] if you don't want it to be publicly visible.

I think it's a unique case. This dbf file is an export of an old DOS application RapidFile. It's a kind of a spreadsheet application in which non-unique columns are possible. That export should have been better, I guess.

The dbf sample I have contains dutch information (graveyard administration). At this moment I'm out of problems, because I used an online tool to convert it to csv. It added a number to make the same column names unique.

Although I'm out of problems now, I can still send you the file, so you can do tests with it. Due to the nature of the info, I'll send it by mail only, if you're interested.
