Error running agent: no outputs found, did you provide a valid config file?
In the example logs you are not running with test, meaning you must include an output!
I expected derivative stats to appear when running 'telegraf --test'
When test is used inputs are collected a single time. How can we create a derivative if we are only collecting a single data point when run with test? What you should be seeing if debug is enabled are the following messages:

Not all aggregators can be used in test mode.
