Sync icon remains after syncing about inaturalistandroid HOT 16 CLOSED

Hi Mike - I believe this is fixed in the new update - can you test?

I just tried this again and I believe I saw the same behavior. It looks like I have version 1.3.10 installed.

Mike - Are you using the Sync Observations button on the Home screen or the Observations tab - or are you experiencing the same behavior on either platform

I was using the "Sync" action from the menu on the Observations tab.

Thats what I've experienced too. If you can see if the problem is consistent from the Observations tab button please post your experience here. I'll try to do the same today over lunch.

I just tried posting a few obs and din't run into any problems (using the Sync button from the Observations tab) http://www.inaturalist.org/calendar/loarie/2014/10/27 it did take a while. I was on a good wifi connection though - Mike (or Royal et al) can you consistently reproduce a problem?

I just tested this morning and was able to sync from the observations tab, but the sync icon stayed there.

So the syncing worked? Re: 'the sync icon stayed there' do you mean the 'Sync Observations' button or the little bird icon up in the device menu bar?

This is just to illustrate the icon; the app actually had a pending sync in this screen.

When I hit the "Sync 1 observations" button, the icon in question goes away. However, if I hit the ellipsis menu and choose "Sync" from there, the icon stays.

weird - I'm not seeing this. I just took to test obs and used the 'Sync' button from the ellipsis menu. It takes a while but when all is said and done the "Sync X observations" button and the icon go away for me

It looks like the latest test observation you created didn't have a photo. I was just able to reproduce by creating an observation with a photo and hitting "Sync" from the ellipsis menu. Not sure if that's the difference or perhaps that we're on different Android versions or what.

Ok - I guess I can reproduce it. The "Sync X observations" button goes away but the icon does persist. It goes away for me if I tap the little bird in the device menu and dismiss the 'Photo sync complete' notification. Also this seems to be the same if I use either the ellipsis or obs sync buttons
