I think it is fine if you change train_data to data, test_data to data, train_labels to targets, and test_labels to targets.
The accuracy is 55%. It is probably because the data use too much poisoned data in the dataset. In data.py, there is a parameter named perc_poison. It is set to .5 in some functions. It might be too large. If you change it from .5 to .05, the accuracy will be much higher than 55%.
