It's a 12-factor app thing. See this page for details. I guess I don't have an issue with having both but env variables work well in Docker.

@iamseth , just a thought here ... It makes sense to add an option of loading data source names from Docker secrets. See this article for details. imho, storing passwords as command line vars or environment vars is rather dangerous practice.
