Ahh, the version of Mistune I'm using should support an escape parameter that would let all HTML code pass through. If you feel adventurous you can add escape=True to the ConfluenceRenderer parameters here. If it works, I will gladly add it to md2cf, with a command line flag to control it :)

I implemented a replacement file (#46 ) which allows to replace custom-strings within the MD file with a Confluence Macro syntax.
Using that we are replacing {{ hint }}foobar{{ /hint }} with the Confluence Macro info during the upload.
