I agree that the Chaincode-as-a-Service instructions are "too hard" for working with Java smart contracts.

Would you mind reviewing the draft PR #684 and feature/java-ccaas-slim development branch to see if this meets your needs for a simple, local development environment? The top level instructions have been added to asset-transfer-basic/chaincode-java

Very valid points; I've got some resources ready in preparation for this.
One question:

• would you prefer the 'asset-transfer-basic' to be both a traditional AND a 'as-a-service' chaincode
• or leave it as, and create a separate example specifically focussing on the as-a-service model.

I'm a little confused when referring to "fabric-samples/test-network-k8s#Working with Chaincode" and "contract-as-a-servcie#java-contract", and this part of the official document about Java is not mentioned, so I hope it can meet the expectations of most Java chaincode developers so that we can use it more conveniently and debug local breakpoints. And the current version of IBM blockchain platform does not support breakpoint debugging.

When I use "fabric-samples/test-network-k8s#Working with Chaincode", I can't use it successfully according to the existing documents, and the documents are too scattered.

I think it's better to have a very detailed operation step document and code example. We can successfully run the provided code example based on the operation process.

I did it. Now, I need to build a development env to debug the code on my IDE.

As a developer, Debugging code is enough important.
Having a debugging code env, we can develop and debug chaincode easily and quickly, but it wasn`t.

I had got from the test-network-k8s,it can do this but need some detail docs for directing our Java developer to build it.
