I am not sure about using at temp directory for the updates. In fact
PyScripter does
make you aware that it has dowloaded files in that directory. It is the user's
choice to delete them or keep them in case they need to go back to an earlier
version.

>In the same vein, perhaps PyScripter.ini should be stored in
>%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\PyScripter\ by default.

This is already the case in the latest version 1.8. Pyscripter will search
first the
exe directory, then %USERPROFILE%\Application Data (for compatibility purposes)
and
if it doesn't find an ini file it will create one in %USERPROFILE%\Application
Data\PyScripter\. You can move you ini file to that directory and it will stay
there
from that point onwards.

Yes, it works. Guess I have been using PyScriptor for too long :-D and I thank
you
for that!
Then as a really minor enhancement, could you update the help file with the
explanation you gave above. Right now version 1.8.0.0 says:
*Persistent Options*

All user options including IDE options, IDE shortcuts, editor options, code
templates and custom parameters are saved in a file called "PyScripter.ini" in
the
user's Application Data directory. If however the "PyScripter.ini" file exists
in
the same directory as the PyScripter executable then it is used in preference
to the
one in the user directory. This allows PyScripter installations in USB storage
for
example.
