Is there a reason not to use a GET url? With a return or cancel button, it should work out?

Else I'ld advise the use of Sesssion::add_to_set() rather than userinfo as it will not expire on its own.

I like the idea of the filters sticking through the sessions. For websites that use Habari and have more pages than entries - its sort of a passive configuration option.

+1 for this. An additional setting we can also store is the dash modules positions.

I support storing it in the session. This is something which relates to the session, not really the entire user.

I think I disagree. If I have more content types (say podcasts and events) I'd like to always see all of them listed when I visit the manage page. Not only for the current session.

I agree these should be done on the user, simply because I see no reason not to. Rather than have it "mysteriously" disappear when I'm logged out, I can set them as I please and have them stay that way.

Using userinfo records makes more sense to me, too, for the reasons chrismeller gives. This is something I'd like to see survive between sessions, changing only when I changed the settings myself, rather than returning to default values when I log out.

Pushing to 0.7 since there's no patch and we're past feature-freeze for 0.6.

Pushing to 0.8. This shouldn't be too tricky, and if someone tackles it it's likely to get committed.

This is a nice-to-have that's deceptively complicated and is holding up 0.9. Pushing to future milestone.

Rather than saving the filter in a userinfo record, which would prevent the user from having different filters at the same time (in different windows, for whatever reason), I would suggest allowing the user to define a default filter. We use presets for displaying posts in admin in 0.10, allowing the user to create a preset and use that would be a nice solution.

Also, whatever solution we come up with, I think this might be better in a plugin.
