hmm interesting, why are you trying to type in those characters though? this is a symfony problem no?

well, i'm not sure where the problem is, it's quite possible that it's in Symfony. I'm not sure I will ever try to write these characters, in this case I tried to submit an issue to Symfony saying that ^U doesn't work as expected (erasing line). While submitting it, it didn't work, which I didn't even notice until @jakzal warned me. So I guess it's a low priority bug, but we should check it sometime.
