Trying to get beyond something is going "passed" it, not placing it in the "past" (relative to present).

“Past” relates to location, as in “beyond” something.
“Passed” is a past-tense verb, as in “to have moved beyond” something.

“Past” here says “a way to force your way [beyond] warnings. Want a suggestion? Don't use this option, fix your code.”
