You are right, DAOs and DaoSessions in entities must be transient. Should be fixed in 3e2b572.
Still open: unit test for serializing an active entity (with relations in resolved and unresolved states).

Cool.
Well personally you shouldn't encourage serialization. People should be parceling there objects. Serialization is slow.
