That is very odd. I have no other reports of that. What kind of *duino
are you using?

I seem to be struggling with and/or finding a few issues as I walk through this.  every now and again, I issue a $x=YYY command and it it says that it stored the information, but then I give it a g command and it does something strange... I go back and check the constants by giving a $ command and it spits back numbers that are junk, usually negative.  If I set everything back to normal again it seems to be fine, but it's somewhat annoying.  It seems to be inconsistant and I haven't figured out what causes it.

I had issues back a while ago where it seemed data going across usb coms would get corupt. In my older/modified version I do some handshaking. After data from my python prgm goes over to the Arduino Mega... the Mega writes back a character count or something and then the python code confirms match and tells Mega it is good. Mega then goes with it.

I am considering upgrading to the Mega 2560. It has different USB chips that supposed work better/faster. I am curious if any one has seen data as to how much better it is.
