The moving of those files is actually part of the install process. The way I set it up was quick and got the job done for development, but wasn't exactly correct for a setuptools install and it doesn't currently work for packaging, only installing to the system. That will be fixed very soon though...

It thinks you're running 3.2 because you're not running 3.8; those are the only supported kernel version at the moment. It will most likely remain that way until the beagleboard.org folks upgrade the default kernel, then I'll probably jump straight to that version. The IO stuff is changing so much between kernel versions that I just don't have the time to support them all.
