+1, this can be easily changed to Holders.config
from grails-cxf.

There was a bunch of stuff needed to upgrade to Grails 2.4. I created pullrequest #40 with my first try

@legart When I try to build your fork, I get a dependency error with guava 12:

@legart Actually, looks like it was just a transitive dependency and I was able to continue.

OK, I am unable to reproduce here and guava 12.0 exists on maven central.
