Are you facing the situation that can't use websocket?

Isn't the point of socket io to support multiple protocols and expose a simple interface?

I already have a situation. Actually websocket works only in webkit and last firefox versions (28-29). I chose socket.io because it supports many protocols. In other cases i don't need it, i just can use raw websocket. Now i use python (gevent-socketio) for server implementation, because it supports all protocols. I want to switch to go, i tested it, it works very good on websocket, but i can't switch to it until it has only websocket support.
