Given that the client.address 10.4.1.88 is a ClusterIP of a service, it really seems like the span kind is wrong and its should be a client span.

I will try to come up with a minimal repro and open a bug upstream

I've been trying to reproduce the issue and it's very difficult. I'm pretty sure it's a bug in Beyla which can be seen with the BookInfo app because the troublesome span(s) gets produced once and then the spanmetrics connector keeps producing it with no change after the initial span:
