How about something along the lines of:

// Reports: Not true that "foo": <"blah"> is equal to <"car keys">.
ASSERT.that(foo).prefixedBy("foo").isEqualTo("car keys");

Both the error message and the "prefixedBy()" method don't quite sit right with me. Something close to that though.

The API looks perfect. The error message looks fine, I'm not really worried about where the quotes and angle-brackets go. I'm slightly worried that the someone could think that the "prefixedBy()" changes the actual test rather than the error message, but... yeah, it's probably okay.

prefixedBy() does not sit right for me as well, what about titled()?

I know the README's scare text just went away, but it IS still pre-1.0; would usurping labeled() be too terrible? It's already soft-deprecated, and while changing to this would break anything that explicitly checks the message from an assertion, it's essentially the same behavior.

.named() has existed for a while (and prepends). Fixed
