a possible alternative is to use a wildcard dns ssl cert, and route things using Envoy

we would need to deploy envoy as a Pod that can talk to 10.0.0.10 and then address using chal.${CHALLENGE_NAME}.svc.cluster.local

if not using l7 load balancer, then the wildcard https cert would probably need to be obtained through https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/acme-v2-production-environment-wildcards/55578

you can dynamically add the domain name for a managedcertificate
kubectl patch managedcertificate.networking.gke.io/certificate --namespace apache-others -p '{"spec":{"domains":["apache-others.kctf-testing.kctf.dev"]}}' --type mergefrom kctf.
