This is normal. The latest ios-webkit-debug-proxy release (1.3) doesn't
print this error.

This looks like a libimobiledevice error. What OS are you using?

Please verify that the following commands work:
idevice_id -l
ideviceinfo -s
idevicepair list

I ran into the same issue.

idevice_id -l, ideviceinfo -s, idevicepair list all worked fine

When I go to the browser and enter the url localhost:9921, I can see my devices listed on it

Why the select_port() will fail?

I am using Mac OS 10.9.1

The iphone is listed at localhost:9222, but even after navigating to a page in Safari the listing is not clickable.
