I think another thing that has been brought up is the ability to have your own sandbox version of Incremental DOM. Currently there are some stuff that is global such as deciding what is set as attributes / vs props and node notifications. This prevents two libraries from using Incremental DOM in the same page.

The react ecosystem has a lot of problems caused by the assumption that one DOM will have only one React. The event system breaks, data-ids overlap and conflict, and components that require other versions of the library will break in odd ways.
This makes using react in third party JS or chrome extensions basically impossible, and really hard for beginners when npm or some library pulls in another version of react.
