yeah, this is an old library anyway that's not maintained anymore, even if you successfully import it and make an app out of it the Playstore will tell the user "It's coded for old devices and some features might not work".
I suggest you take a look at https://github.com/sentialx/discord-bubbles instead.

Just because it's not maintained doesn't mean Android Studio should fail so badly to open it. It's only 3 years old.
Eclipse did a very good job opening very old Java versions when I last used it (before Android Studio started being used).

I now tried to do as you wrote. Finally succeeded.
