This would be useful, but I'd prefer to just be able to set the tooltip to whatever
I
specify.  Multidimensional data is also plotted on a 2d scatter plot, and I want to
list information about the other dimensions when the user clicks a point.

I agree with Murray - would be very useful to be able to add custom data.

Yes, I agree with Murray as well, and why not be even more generic and allow the
inclusion of a URL (or an arbitrary Axaj-call) inside the tooltip. Would be great !

I agree with Murray - would be very useful to be able to add custom data - and given
that pie charts support this, I suspect someone has already worked out the complexities...

The corechart package has the legend name in the tooltip, so this is marked as fixed.
As for the suggestions to customize the tooltip content - there are other issues opened
for this (282, 416), so feel free to star them.
