Reopening this based on a use case from Greg where he is rewriting the modifiers for a variable declaration, and when the modifiers include an annotation, the "did you mean" in the error message is totally unhelpful.

Greg suggests something like:

Found:
@Inject
public final Foo foo;

Did you mean:
@Inject
public Foo foo;

We're moving toward programmatic application of fixes, so I think this will be superceded by that.
