I have the same issue.

There's no obvious limit on the number of sites within the detangle code itself.
Potentially, you have hit Chrome's storage limit (see here) - could you check Chrome's JavaScript console (Shift-ctl-i) after you try to add a new site.

Yup - I ran into this too.
This makes detangle pretty much unusable for me. Per https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13373187/can-i-increase-quota-bytes-per-item-in-chrome you cannot modify this value, but detangle could be inspecting it to try to divide up how it stores things.

(I'm working around this by removing some old sites I don't need anymore, and trying to make sure I use broader wildcards to avoid adding subdomains of the same site over and over again, but it's less than ideal and not very obvious at all what's going on when this starts to happen)
