That would be awesome! The current limbo is very confusing...

Indeed, also notable is the out of sync with Closure library itself (which was somehow addressed with last push). I am eagerly waiting for official statement.

Some of what you ask is being done, although admittedly some of it is happening slowly.

Bear in mind that although Closure templates are used by a large number of Google products internally, the system works well enough that there's not a lot of active feature development going on right now, and is mostly maintained by a few volunteers in their spare time. Almost all of the features added during the last two years have been related to enhancing security and hardening the system against attackers.

I think in terms of features the project is okay, for me the "worst" thing is that the old (google code) repo is still the one referenced in the official docs.

Maybe there is some things with which the community can help? For example seeing which issues from the old repo still apply and migrate the others to github.

Also - Maven artifacts are missing (I've updated the above list).

I am aware that Closure templates are used intensively by Google; but this is not how an open source project should be maintained. This issue is not much about adding new features - they are fine and thats what ppl love - but... maintenance. Have a single repo. Respond to contributors. Release from time to time. I have much less spare time then google, but if you wish, I can at least help with migrating to new repo and set the infrastructure (like migrate to gradle) etc.

Releases should be more frequent now. You should file individual issues for the items in list above if there aren't already.

For gradle be sure specify why this needs to be done.

We're now able to accept outside contributions for the source code (directions). (We're also working on putting the official documentation here, so outside contributors can improve those, too.) PRs welcome!

I'm going to close this issue now. If you have more specific concerns, feel free to open more specific issues.
