Version 5 in gemfile installs version 4 about simple_token_authentication HOT 4 CLOSED

Was able to resolve by using 1.0.0.beta.5 instead of ~> .... This doesn't feel like the best solution though...

Yes, of course you can ask for a specific version, but the issue origin is
Bundler considering 1.0.0.pre.beta.4 is greater than 1.0.0.beta.5 and
that must be considered.

The solution -a bit tricky- is easy however: bumping the version number to
some "release candidate" number. Modificators are ordered in alphabetical
number by Bundler and rc should be considered greater than pre.beta.5.

I'll check what is possible to be done in terms of rc version numbers and
push a fix tonight. Thanks for reporting @hunterboerner!

Now you can get the last version without specifying any version number (gem 'simple_token_authentication').
Eventually you'll need to ask Bundler to update it with:

bundle update simple_token_authentication # get the last available version of the gem

Note: be sure not to run bundle update without specifyiing the gem. That would update all gems, which often isn't what you want.
