500 error when attempting to save Account Settings about lifterlms HOT 5 CLOSED

@leftlane I wanted to let you know that I am not ignoring this issue, I've been out of town and since we have so few people in our GH right now I'm the only one looking at GH issues.

Well, that was enlightening.

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /nas/content/live/wwordpress101/wp-content/plugins/edit-flow/modules/user-groups/user-groups.php on line 692, referer: https://www.wp101.com/my-courses/edit-account/

I was getting no error at all in the developer tools within Chrome or Safari. But found this in the server logs, and it's no surprise. Edit Flow hasn't been updated in some time. This isn't the first conflict I've experienced with it.

I just disabled that plugin, and the problem goes away. Guess you can file this one in your Rolodex of possible plugin conflicts, should anyone else have this issue in the future.

@leftlane good to hear, would you like us to spend some time investigating the conflict and see if there's anything on our end that's potentially causing the conflict to arise here or are you not too concerned?

Totally up to you. It looks to me like the fault lies with the way Edit Flow is managing custom capabilities for user groups and roles. Appears it wants to intercept updates to user accounts. I'd sit on it for now, and only revisit it if you receive bug reports or conflicts with other plugins that manage user roles.

I'm not going to re-install Edit Flow until/unless that plugin receives some love and is updated regularly. That's a shame, because we really enjoyed the functionality that plugin provided to our editorial flow with multiple people writing content for our blog.
