from gm_stringtable.

LennyPenny avatar LennyPenny commented on August 20, 2024

from gm_stringtable.

nurdism avatar nurdism commented on August 20, 2024

according to http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Creating_Binary_Modules you put it in the "lua/bin" folder, I've tried putting it in every bin folder I can find, but it doesn't want to load

nurdism avatar nurdism commented on August 20, 2024

can you at least tell me if that's where is supposed to go? Is that the right folder?

handsomematt avatar handsomematt commented on August 20, 2024

I'm just learning this stuff really. Started learning LUA a few days ago, I'd like to use this module if I could get it to work. It's a good idea.

Do you know what this module does

from gm_stringtable.

nurdism avatar nurdism commented on August 20, 2024

yes, it allows you to view clientside scrips sent from the server, the ones in "garrysmod\cache\lua" I'm making my own gametype and I want to use gm_roc aswell to tweek a a few things, its faster than restarting the server just to see the changes.

LennyPenny avatar LennyPenny commented on August 20, 2024

what none of this helps with making game/types/

from gm_stringtable.

nurdism avatar nurdism commented on August 20, 2024

afaik the AddCSLuaFile( ) sends the file to the client and it stores it in "garrysmod\cache\lua" with me having access to it and with gm_roc I could mod the files I need as I play, most of the stuff I am tweeking is client side

LennyPenny avatar LennyPenny commented on August 20, 2024

no if you change the cache files your game will redownload them, now stop fucking around with modules and learn lua properly first
