Please think about Apache 2.0
All the other tools are using the apache license nowadays (coreos, docker etc). IMHO MIT is short, easy and permissive, but apache being a modern permissive license which is more explicit and detailed in terms of which rights are granted and which are restricted.

Apache is fine with me. Thankfully, we don't have to paste the entire license text in our work. Here is what we would have in our LICENSE file:

Maybe we need to be more precise what repos we are talking about. I would guess for our examples (mysql-archiver) it's not a big deal.
But if we are releasing some tools (e.g. coreos clustering) the patent granding is a more important.
