Hi, thank you for the praise.
The user, executing mariadb, can't write to the specified mount /run/media/myuser/Backup/seafile/seafile-mariadb. By default it has uid=0 and gid=0. Try to run chown -R 0:0 /run/media/myuser/Backup/seafile/seafile-mariadb.

I see, thank you for the reply. I seem to have formatted my backup disk as FAT which does not support proper linux user permissions. I will retry with ext4 tomorrow 👍
