I would suggest you to open two seperate bugs on the gentoo bugzilla for this, the maintainer of this overlay are for sure going to notice it. Alpine does have a patched version of kodi in their repo under community/kodi/, a quick grep -r on the filename involved got me actually five hits. Try them, and also try to get them to the tree via the bugreport, if they work.

I applied:

add-missing-includes.patch
fix-fileemu.patch
fix-musl.patch
fortify-source-fix.patch
remove-filewrap.patch

from aports/comminity/kodi
And kodi compiled fine and working so far without any errors.
I will post request on gentoo bugzilla for adding those patches into overlay.

Thanks for help!

In an ideal approach, you should as well try to send these patches upstream, and they will get merged within the next release. Which means lower workload for responsible gentoo maintainer, no rebasing, you name it.

Looks like upstream won't apply those patches : https://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/17720#no1

Well, you could try to contact the person who wrote the patches in the first place, and then try to work with him in making an effort to write new non-glibc breaking patches. It looks as if this is non trivial, good luck :)

Patchset might be suitable for the overlay only at the moment, you should open a pullrequest for it.

https://gitweb.gentoo.org/dev/anarchy.git/tree/media-tv/kodi This is well tested on musl, It doesn't require java which is a big plus for musl users. I WILL NOT move this to the musl overlay, it will stay in my dev overlay.

I have moved kodi from my dev overlay to ::musl, I will continue to keep it supported there.
