Origami will not modify the internal structure of the document unless asked to.

A document saved by Origami will still be a form if the original document was a form. Converting a document from a form PDF to a regular PDF may be complicated because the fields may convey graphical instructions in what is called internally Appearance Streams. Suppressing them requires some processing to inject those graphical instructions into the content stream of the page at the right coordinates.

The simplest solution would be to keep the form but making the fields read-only I think.

@gdelugre do you have more information about how this would be achieved? We have the same problem in that our readers can't read the Dynamic XFA forms (pdfjs for instance), so they display the "Please wait..." message. We don't need to manipulate any fields, just sort of "print" them into a new PDF so the user can see them.
