Incoming SMS kill gammu-smsd at Huawei E1750 (E169) about gammu HOT 4 CLOSED

I have the same issue on the Raspberry Pi with an Huawei E161 stick. After a couple of minutes, an incoming SMS freezes the modem/smsd. The log stops at the same line like the above one.

I currently have no clue what might be the reason. Choosing a different loop interval (fewer requests to the modem) does not help so far.

I have a bad news for you, there is only one reason how to fix it ... using another USB stick.
I'm currently using Huawei K3770 and it's running for more than 90 days without restart and without problem.

On my Raspberry Pi my stick shows as three devices (ttyUSB0, ttyUSB1 and ttyUSB2). When I switched from 0 to 2 yesterday evening, the stick doesn't hang after receiving a sms after an hour the same evening or several hours today morning.

Maybe I'm lucky and don't have to change the stick.

There you can see, that:
ttyUSB0 = Modem interface
ttyUSB1 = Diagnostic interface
ttyUSB2 = User interface

I'm using ttyUSB0 alltime. I never tested ttyUSB2 on old model, maybe it would be OK too.
