Should the Background makers create their own meta info? Or, more generally, does any operation on a dataset create some meta info?
from gammapy.
One should decide what is metadata and what is provenance... Today, the bkg makers do not create metadata. But obviously, one would need to save at least in provenance how the bkg is computed (for fov: tilt and/or norm, for phase: the phase interval, etc).
But initial proposal is:
- we do not create additional metadata
- just take care that the previously created ones are correctly propagated.
- all necessary information will be stored into provenance
