The update is working without problems.

Thank you for the good work - this tool really help me to find out, what is wrong with my Ariston Alteas One Net.
The short-cycling is better - it is now forced to be off for at least 7 min. and the pattern of the Flame On graf shows it very nice.

I will now buy some temperature sensor to balance the 3 zones as good as possibly.

The 10 DS18B20 is working and I will put them on the pipes later. I am waiting for a case for my new Rpi4.

Today I tried the beta update, but it didn't worked, so I went back to v. 6 - I'm happy, that the hack is working, so it is easy to change.

I found the resolution to the problem!

The central heater thermostat is in the hallway, where I only want a temperature between 20 and 20.5
In the living room I want a temperature of more than 20.8
In the living room I have a AeoTec temperature sensor for reading the temperature and I use this device for a trigger for my automations.

I made, as a start, two automations - one for start and one for stop.
The Actions part I made is, for now, as follows.

For starting the heating:
Start Heating automation - Home Assistant

For stopping the heating:
Stop Heating automation - Home Assistant

The short-cyling problem are solved, so I will close the subject!

Hey LeifRas! Thank you for the feedback. The sort-cycling sounds dangerous I hope you can fix it.

I use DHW (domestic hot water) operation disabled with fixed 55 degree. This setting is only for hot water. So I have to wait a little when I open the hot water tap to actually have the required water temperature, but it consumes less gas.

The automatic thermoregulation is for CH (central heating). When it is on, the device chooses the flow setpoint temperature (temperature of the water when it starts circulating) automatically. I turned it on for my device.

Hi

I found a solution in the Ariston Alteas One technical Area menu.
In menu 2.3.5 I changed CH Anti-cycling time mode to 0 - 0=Manual
In menu 2.3.6 I changed the Anti-cycling time to the Max 7 - from 0 to 7 (minuttes)=7
It only regulates the off time, so it always stays off for at least 7 min and heat for 1 or more minutes.

I made a lot of tests with the help of your program and found out that this was the only solution.
I tried with fixed temperature without any thermostat - it was short-cycling. It didn't matters if I used auto mode or not.
I tried a lot. Higher water pressure, removing air form radiators etc.
I think it has something to do with the installation og the pipes - there size, radiator dimensions, old radiator thermostats (some of them mounted wrongly in a up/down orientation), a needed cleaning the hole system etc.
I am not a plumber, so I will have at look at it, when it will be spring ;-)

Yes - I am sure, that it is bad for the device!
It must have been like that for more than 4 years until the PCB broke down - it was dark where the cabling to the ingnition electrode was connected to the PCB, so there was sign of comming sparks from a capacitor on the PCB to ground.
We have 7 years garanti, so until now it was repaired without costs.

Wow It is good to know. I don't have these menu items for my device. Good luck with that!

Sorry I have to ask again.
I have now installed HACKS, but I don't know, what to search for to update ariston-remothermo?

My Ariston has been down twice, with an error 104 - Insufficient Circulation.
I think that the pump is running to slow - it is maybe running slow because og dirty circulation water?
I was ajusting som valves and I think the new problem started at that time.

Ohh - I found out.
I tried to add a custom repository and then it found Ariston Net and installed that...

@LeifRas: For beta you should delete and readd the integration because it uses a different api call to get the device.

LeifRas avatar LeifRas commented on September 23, 2024

OK - I did that and now it is working. I have 4 entities, that is now not available, but the most part is working fine. Thank you.

I still have problems with short-cycling. It's because I don't want to use the default Ariston Cube rf thermostat, as the variation in the temperature is over 0,5 degree Celsius. The heater just turns of, when the pressure is to hight.
There should be a possibility to include some code from core to control the short-cycling - look here:
home-assistant/core#2726

Will you use a little time to look at it and tell me, if it possibly?
Thank you.

I am now working on using my Aeotec termometer ZWA039-C to change the HVAC mode on and off.
I have made two automations, but it does't seems to work all the time - maybe my logik in the settings are incorrect.

from ariston-remotethermo-home-assistant-v3.

LeifRas avatar LeifRas commented on September 23, 2024

Now my automatisation is working - I have a HueLight turning on and off.

There is a problem with the Ariston - I think I need a HVAC=idle.
With Off - it turns the heater off, and I have to manually turn it on again.
With Auto - I don't know what that is for, but I also have to manually turn it on again.

I have theese options:
HVAC mode - Ariston Alteas One 24

But thank you for your effort - I can make a lot of very good statistics - it help me a lot in making a solution for the short-cycling!
