There seems to be a Qt bug that QWidget.grabKeyboard() fails to work on Mac OS X:
https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-17810
A workaround could be to set the keyboard focus to the widget as soon as recording starts. This would make normal/non-focus-changing keystrokes reach the button.
In the file frescobaldi_app/widgets/keysequencewidget.py, in the method startRecording(self), adding the following line at the beginning (around line 196) may help:
self.setFocus(True)
(Note that the line starts with 8 spaces, no tab)
Could anyone please test this on Mac OS X?
