I don't know. The only way to know is to test, and I don't have a Windows 7 machine.

Please note that current versions of LilyPond itself are not supported under Windows 7.

Ah, but actually, I know. I'm pretty sure the Frescobaldi 3.3 installer was built with Python 3.9 at least (CC @19joho66), and this was the first version of Python not to support Windows 7.

Since this issue was meant as a question, I am closing it; let's use #1574 to track the fact that we need to write down what platforms we support somewhere.

what was the last frescobaldi version to use a python version with windows 7 support? and yeah it would be great to write them on the github page. i don't know why github doesn't have a section for that by default.

I don't know, and I'm not sure anybody does. I encourage you to just try (or get an up-to-date system, either by upgrading to Windows 10 or installing a free/libre system like Ubuntu).

how are you not sure? Don't you develop this program? someone must know. And I don't use windows 7, I'm on 10. I'm making a list of programs with windows 7 compatibility, cause I like the OS a lot and might end up going back to it.
