Hi jjgionta and thanks for reporting. I am confused here: do you think this is a bug in the documentation? In Getting started (http://django-endless-pagination.readthedocs.org/en/latest/start.html) one of the first steps is about activating the request context processor. But maybe this is not enough, and we should make it clear that the request is needed in the context, and that, when writing your own template tags, you should always use RequestContext, or at least manually insert the request in the context.
However, I don't think this should go in the Getting started page, but maybe in some other page or in a brand new one like Using Endless Pagination in your own template tags*.
